Philosophy
Magick
is the essence of human experience, the ‘magic’
of life transposed into music. It is a mesh of humanistic
philosophy, neo-logical thinking, existential theory, spirituality,
and raw human emotion.
Magick explores and questions the possibilities of life
and general existence, starting with the structure of modern
society and working down to the hidden phenomena of the
inner sanctum.
The thread that ties all this together and the objective
of this exploration and analysis is to find, purify, and
if possible, increase the moments of ‘magic’
that clarify and reiterate meaning in existence.
The artistic objective of the band is to create music that
captures and expresses the magnificence of the human spirit
on a hyper-profound level, yet is unlimited by time and
space. One of Magick’s core belief that music, like
love & passion, can bend time and space and elevate
the listener to a level of almost holotropic consciousness.
The music of Magick brings the electronic element into
the pop-rock realm, making music that is not only timeless
in structure and content, but also ageless in the world
of sound production. Magick believes strongly in the progression
of music. Looking at the rock music timeline, from its origins
to its trailblazers, rock is defined by the bold and those
who dared to push the envelope in performance and the sonic
landscape.
Study the legends, Hendrix, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Queen,
all were pushing the envelope in performance and technology,
both on stage and in the studio in order to create something
new and unique, music that would amaze. These musicians
did not become legends by being traditional or conventional,
or by simply rehashing the same style of music played decades
before. They embraced a proud past and added to it, made
it better, improved it, and then branched out to carve their
own identity.
As unique and futuristic as the musical vision of Magick
is, our main concern is the synthesis of glorious melodies.
The goal of each song written is that no matter what one’s
musical tastes are, the listener is unable to resist and
is in complete awe and surrender to the melody’s infectious
power. When properly executed, nothing is more memorable
in music than a powerful vocal melody. It is the most tangible
human expression of music.
