Daal Makhni/ Daal Maharani

Daal Maharani is an exquisite dish of unique blend of lentil-like beans (Urad or Mahan Di Daal) and a sprinkle of red kidney beans. It is the Daal of choice served in most Indian restaurants all over the world.

The blend of beans is cooked over low heat for several hours and is seasoned with fresh garlic, onions, green chilies, ginger and salt.

Daal Maharani may be garnished with fresh cilantro leaves; it may be consumed with Chapati or with Basmati rice.
